About one year ago I opened a bottle of 2004 Les Ruchets Cornas from Jean-Luc Colombo winery located in the northern appellation of Cornas in the Rhône Valley, France. The Miotto vineyards on the hill of Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene are located among the steep hills and valleys of the Cartizza area, a UNESCO World Heritage site for the traditional viticulture and winemaking methods.

These six wines are produced from upland (hilly) vineyards and demonstrate the uniqueness of these elevated plateaus. Etna, of which 28 hectares of vines are in production.
