Many former coffee plantations were also divided, with parcels sold off to smallholder farmers and former slaves who grew their own food, as well as smaller volumes of coffee. The Wallenford brand was sold in 2013, while the government-owned processor and exporter Mavis Bank was sold in 2016; both to the same buyer.
